Preparing the food

A lekka mean curry stew Mmmmm.

Here is some feedback on my challengeHelp cook and/or serve a meal at a homeless shelter“.I joined “Moeggesukkel” on Friday afternoon to assist in the cooking and serving of food to 300 homeless people in the PTA CBD.

Unfortunately, things did not work out as planned. I arrived at Moeggesukkel at about 16h00 and had a lekke chat with Ruan and his team; it is always a pleasure to chat to them.

The plan was to assist in the kitchen preparing the food and then by 18h00 leaving for the serving. Everything went as planned until around 17h50, when I had to attend to an emergency.
It was a phenomenal experience and we had a lekke time, meeting with the people from Moeggesukkel and actually having the opportunity to chat to them. Interestingly, I actually felt at home myself; it’s as if I want to go there every day and just be around them, they are extremely positive and it’s contagious and addictive.

The plan is to complete the challenge this Friday 01 November 2013. I will keep you posted on my progress.
